We helped a health supplement/nootropic company massively increase their ROAS in just three months from $4K to $60K by tweaking their shopping campaign.
The Challenge
This client is a health supplement/nootropic company in North America. The products they carry are diverse. They include herbal supplements as well as other health-related products.
They had already begun trying to set up Google Ads, but they didn’t really have a strong direction. None of their efforts with Google Ads were giving them the results they wanted to see. They did not have any ad spend. This meant that their conversion rate was very low, resulting in low profits.
In addition to these challenges, many of their products were restricted by Google due to policy violations. These specific products presented a huge challenge for us, as some of them we would have loved to promote more openly. In order to supercharge their Google Ads results, we knew we needed to take a different path.
The Approach
First, we took a closer look at their account and picked out some errors in their conversion tracking setup. A lot of those errors were due to another agency who had previously been managing their account. Therefore, we had to undo many things before we even began to implement our actual strategies. Using our own internal resources, we got their conversion tracking fixed and validated.
As soon as those issues were handled, we replaced their manual shopping feed with an automated feed that followed all of Google’s ad policies. We made many title and description adjustments. We did this so that they would be better optimized to work with Google Ads and still remain in accordance with the policies that Google has for the ads on their platform.
Our next step was to launch a new shopping campaign. We took a close look at the small details of the account and found two areas that would benefit from adjustments. These areas were the bid strategy and their budgets. We scaled the account up by focusing on these two areas, and made sure to maintain a very healthy ROAS. Our target ROAS to hit was 225%. With careful attention, we grew this campaign to 250% ROAS!
The Results
After a short while we began to see some results with our strategies. In November 2020 alone, revenue jumped from $2.1K to $32K, and the ROAS from 135% to 335%. By January 2021, revenue was at $79,974 and ROAS was 273%. That’s close to a $50,000 increase in three months! With this performance, the owner is looking to exit and sell the brand.
